Hypro has developed its first high performance Centrifugal Pump for 38 mm 8 spline ISO PTO adaptors up to 1000 rpm/min. A specification designed specifically to drive trailed sprayers fitted to MTZ* Model 80 and 82 Tractors.

The compact pump and PTO drive is closely coupled to the tractor, a very efficient position as it eliminates the need for Cardon shaft and allows installation of the pump without removing the tractor coupling.

The 9403C-1000-MTZ pump casing is constructed from Cast Iron for high durability and agrochemical tolerance. An extended life Polycog-vented drive belt is also used. Lifeguard® premium silicon carbide seals are fitted which resist abrasion and dissipate heat, so if the pump is run dry for short periods it is less likely to fail.

The 9403S-1000-MTZ has a 1½” NPT inlet and 1¼” NPT outlet with maximum flow rate of 620 litres per mimute and maximum pressure of 7.7 bar. According to Hypro’s Eastern European Sales Manager Dmytro Neshchadhov:

“Centrifugal pumps are ideal for larger trailed sprayers. They are cost effective and deliver high throughput but can also fill the sprayer tank quickly. This new option has been designed specifically to fit the 38 mm 8 spline ISO PTO adaptor of the MTZ Model 80 and 82 tractors to provide the perfectly compatible drive unit.”

Centrifugals are small and light relative to their performance and therefore easy to locate on a sprayer. Their simple design, with only 4 wearing parts means fewer faults, easier, less frequent maintenance and a much longer pump life. The centrifugal pump has been the choice of North American sprayer manufacturers for a long time and is increasingly being incorporated into new sprayer designs by European manufacturers for improved spraying and filling performance on larger sprayers.
