Polypropylene Fittings
Hypro carries a complete line of polypropylene fittings to help you create a plumbing design that works for you. Polypropylene fittings are available as cam lock couplings, adapters, elbows, tees, plugs, reducers, and nipples and with both threaded and hose bard connections.

Hypro polypropylene fittings are generally acceptable for use at working pressures up to 150 PSI at ambient temperatures. As with all thermoplastics, an increase in working temperature is accompanied by a decrease in acceptable operating pressure. At 140ºF the working pressure limit is 90 PSI.

Polypropylene has resistance to a range of chemicals including most agricultural chemicals, acidic fertilizers, ammonium compounds, calcium carbonate, ethanol, hydrochloric acid, magnesium sulfate, oxalic acid, propionic acid, phosphoric acid and most sodium compounds. Polypropylene fittings should not be used with aromatic hydrocarbons, carbon tetrachloride, gasoline, hexane, kerosene, nitric acid, sodium hypochlorite, toluene trichloroethylene, and xylene.

  • Polypropylene fitttings are recommended:
  • • for hand tight, plus 1 turn
  • • for normal ag growing season conditions
  • • for acid resistance
  • • for sunlight/UV resistance
  • • for cosmetic appearance
  • Polypropylene fitttings are NOT recommended:
  • • for use with impact wrenches or other over tightening
  • • for use in temperature extremes
  • • for use with PTFE tape
  • • for use with toluene or xylene-based compounds
